Now let's get to the Core of the Pelvic Floor! Hosted by Shravya Kovela, PT, DPT, OCS and supported by Flyte.
Operation MIST is run by two amazing pelvic floor physical therapists - Dr. Katherine Sylvester and Dr. Jessica Thompson. They began Operation MIST to tackle the maternal health crisis, especially in women of color. By using a smart watch, they monitor moms before, throughout, and even beyond pregnancy to help catch any of the "scary stuff" that sometimes goes missed and to just help moms survive and thrive!
We talk all about...
- What the maternal crisis is and how it differs amongst different populations
- What types of things often go missed during pregnancy
- What collaborative prenatal and postpartum care looks like, in an ideal world
- Katherine's personal healthcare journey with preeclampsia and why it almost didn't get caught before her baby's birth
- Two seriously incredible case studies shared by Jessica and Katherine of some moms they helped through remote monitoring
